Alumni were invited to join EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti and other guests for what promises to be an interesting and provocative discussion on diversity, innovation and business performance.
The four guest speakers reflected on the many challenges of developing a more inclusive work environment in widely different organisations. They represented a broad range of professional activities:
• Annette Byron is a Partner at Freshfields and the legal firm’s sponsor for social mobility
• Min Jin Lee is a Korean-American writer whose most recent novel looks at ingrained prejudice and discrimination
• Heather Melville OBE, heads Business Inclusion Initiatives at RBS and has been recognised in the FT as one of the UK’s most influential BAME leaders
• Matthew Shaw, UK Futures Editor, runs a team of senior journalists at BBC News
This discussion had been organised by the EBRD Diversity Steering Group and took place from 13.00 to 14.00 in the HQ Auditorium on Thursday, 19 October.
