EBRD Representative Office in Washington DC

Official Opening

The EBRD officially opened its Representative Office for North America, in Washington DC, on April 14. The office covers Canada, Mexico and the US, and aims at supporting and strengthening EBRD partnerships, business development and outreach in these three markets.

EBRD Alumni were cordially invited to celebrate the opening of the Office. The event started at 16:00 and took place at the Centre for Global Development in Washington DC. The programme includes a high-level address by EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti, followed by an official opening ceremony and reception for participants (see details below).

16.00–17.00 – EBRD President’s (Suma Chakrabarti) address
17.00–17.30 – Official opening announcement of the EBRD representative office in Washington DC by Suma Chakrabarti and Phil Bennett, EBRD’s first Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
17.30–19.00 – Reception

The event provided an opportunity to network with EBRD’s senior management and other EBRD alumni, as well as representatives of the US government, other International Financial Institutions and EBRD clients.
